My sister continues to update us on mum's progress. They have put her in isolation because the tests came back positive for HiB. She's still on antibiotics - when she can be persuaded to take them - quite confused and hard to understand. Although my sister read the paper to her a couple of days ago, and got ticked off for reading too quickly and not clearly enough! So some of her usual mental acuity is still there, and she seems to recognise Fiona - gave her a big smile yesterday. She's not eating though, and I remain apprehensive about new emails from sis.

Thank you, solosundance, msmoat, and shihadchick for your supportive comments. I did reach a point of needing to vent and I am incredibly grateful for the listening ears. One or two other pieces of news from my neighbourhood are not great, but I am personally OK (car windscreens aside). Connecting with friends here over the past few days has been muy beneficial.
