Sep. 11th, 2009 07:20 pmB's away for the weekend. I've done post officey things, bought food (lamb roast *g*) and now I'm procrastinating.
I have fic to write - but I can't decide which to start on first. You'll have to help: should it be A, B, C, D, E or F? Without saying which is which - I've been having thinky thoughts about all of them - help me out, please :)
[Poll #1456095]
Number one: Idris Elba. I adored him in Ultraviolet, in which he played an ex-SAS soldier named Vaughan Rice. Emotionally cool exterior, very professional, but with hints of a more passionate nature underneath it all. Idris looks fine in a suit or in leather *g*. I've heard good things about his work on The Wire although I haven't seen any eps... should I?
Number two: James Murray. I know him from Primeval, but he's been in heaps of other things. He looks good as a scruff with a gun, and he leans nicely (although he has a ways to go to match Doyle).
OK, enough is enough... so, which fic should I be writing now?

Date: 2009-09-11 10:01 am (UTC)I think I need to see Bodie and Doyle more! My flist is practically devoid of Pros these days, which is tragic... I'm thinking about doing a picspam at Safehouse, maybe asking people for their favourite pics of Bodie and Doyle...
I watched a Pros vid this morning, and though ahhhh all over again - I swear I just need to see them more! Not MS, not LC, not everything else... our lads together!

Date: 2009-09-12 06:22 am (UTC)I think it has great potential for a wonderful manip once its a bit tweaked.
Go and try, it's fun :)

Date: 2009-09-11 09:54 am (UTC)As for The Wire, someone has just lent me the DVDs of series 1 as I had also heard good things but didn't want to buy without seeing it. I'm only a few eps in but it is gritty and absorbing so far, very much a slow build kind of plot but it keeps you interested, and the performance so far have been excellent. But TBH as I'm only a few eps in so hopefully someone who has seen more can help.

Date: 2009-09-11 12:32 pm (UTC)This exercise is bound to help you decide which one you really feel like writing, even if it's not the 'winner'.
Happy writing and have an excellent weekend.

Date: 2009-09-11 12:44 pm (UTC)You *have* to watch The Wire -- it's the best TV drama I've ever seen. BBC2 showed all the series more or less back to back over the summer -- the very last ep was last night, and I am bereft! Idris Elba is gorgeous, and a bloody good actor.
As for James Murray . . . *Melts into a pile of goo*. If you haven't seen it, try to get a copy of Phoenix Blue. He spends the film half-naked and wet *vbg*.

Date: 2009-09-11 06:19 pm (UTC)(and I love the manip, btw - point taken that you're not satisfied with it, but the hot delicious and tasty potential is hot delicious and tasty! and also miam. Off to read BSL's manip-inspired fic!)

Date: 2009-09-12 01:04 am (UTC)I think the positioning works - the line between their (half closed) eyes and mouths leaves a strong impression. I'm just no good at blending stuff :(
