Trying to explain to the local ClinOps Director why we can't separate the Resident and Junior Medical Officer budgets into clinical specialities and why it's hard to trace payments made vs work performed:

"The whole system's fairly impenetrable, I'm afraid."

She stares at me, then smiles. "Yes, I can see that. Good choice of words."
