I do like "The True Game" by Sheri S Tepper. And I wanted badly to look at tonight, because I have some thoughts that won't come out about connection and power sharing. But of course, all my books are now at Glenbrook. In boxes, or on the four bookshelves we bought from friends to house our overabundant collection. Also missing the Thesaurus, which I wanted to use for the same reason.

We've moved 5 carloads in 3 trips. Apart from some kitchen/bathroom requirements, it's all been books and comics. I can feel my shoulder and leg muscles ache a little; this is good, because it means I've been active, and the sense of progression is there. But we still need to move a lot of small stuff before either of us will be happy about letting the movers in to take the furniture.

We like our new house a lot. There's a lot of work to do on it but I figure, because neither of us is fussy about internal decorating, that we can live with the inside as it is and fix things up as we go along.

Ah! THAT'S where you've been! Hope the new house soon feels like home. See you down in Club D soon, I hope. Missing you. Tiger.

Yes. I'll definitely be back. I started to read your new stories, but felt I wasn't giving them the time they deserved, so it's going to be a treat for me in a couple of weeks, I hope.

Have finally seen the movie! Really liked it, and the b/f (who, as I told you, can't see Keanu in the role), also thought it was pretty good. Great ending. And the John/Balthazar action was... "finger-lickin' good"!

Will post when I have more time.

Hugs

Sue

Just nice to have you back, and nice to know you've seen the movie and that a) you liked it and b) it didn't put you off [livejournal.com profile] club_dominion. What did you think of John/Lucifer? That was actually the scene that screamed, "Write gay porn, write it now!" at me.

A True Game fan huh? I tend to like her earlier stuff myself, although 'Grass' scared the living daylights out of me.

My favourites, (in no particular order):

The 'True Game' series
The Revenants
The Awakeners
The Arbai Trilogy (including 'Grass' and 'Raising the Stones', which was the first work of hers I read after the 'True Game')

I quite liked 'The Visitor', but thought the ending let the rest of the book down badly. Other recent ones, like 'Singer from the Sea' are just the same old riff played not so well, unfortunately.

Wow, someone else who's read The True Game. Do you have The Chronicles of Mavin Manyshaped as well? — love it — and the final Jinian set (I can't find THEM anywhere!!!)?
