First and foremost:

Happy birthday franciskerst! Hope you are having a lovely day.

And also (because I haven't posted anything apart from "me too" meme-type stuff in an age):

We live in the Lower Blue Mountains just outside Sydney. Take the M4 motorway across the Nepean River, wind your way up the hill for a few  kilometres and you're almost at our front doorstep.

There's a large park not too far from where we live, called Knapsack Park, which has some nice walking tracks. One of these leads to the old Great Western Highway route into the mountains. There's a lovely bridge (Knapsack Viaduct) and a wheelchair accessible path that follows the old highway. We walked along it a couple of Sundays ago.

I took the last photo a couple of months ago while stuck in a homeward-bound traffic jam on the M4. The Blue Mountains are in the far background.

The jam was caused by an accident - it cleared pretty quickly. And if it hadn't happened, I wouldn't have been able to take a pic of the beautiful sky!

It's gorgeous, isn't it - and we're only at the lower end of the mountains. Gets pretty dry & dusty in summer, though.

Hey, it must be pretty amazing where you are. I haven't been over to Aberdeen, but drove up through Perth to Inverness years ago and loved it.

It is beautiful indeed in this part. From my sitting room window I can see fields and hills and trees and greenery and ... some cows and a church.

The only thing missing is water really.
