Bwahahahaha! It's mostly pattern recognition. A couple of years ago I had a competition going with a friend of B's who told me that his old boss could clear a large minesweeper in under 2 minutes (geeky, yes). We both tried over several months and although neither of us could get under 120, I won our little race - he was bemused that a woman could 'think logically' enough to be good at it! Little did he know them was fightin' words!
Anyway, I don't play it much any more, got too much else to do with my time, really. But if you are interested, here are a couple of tips *g*: * it's not real. Nobody gets blown up. Hit a few squares at random, F2 to reset if you bum out. The idea is to clear a decent starting block. * start from corners, mark (right click) definite mines. * patterns: a pair of 2's next to a corner indicates that the first 2 squares are mines. In a long line, '3's indicate 3 mines in a row. 1-2-1 indicates that there is a free space between 2 mines. * click the left & right mouse button together on an uncovered square to clear the identifiably blank squares around it. This will also indicate 'possible' mine squares.
Of course very often it comes down to pot luck :-(
Work is 'OK', thanks. I think I'm back in the groove now.
Ha ha ha! Not only did you post about the game, you took the time to screen shot and upload it! Now *that's* procrastination! I bow humbly to you, Master! :::snerk:::

Date: 2006-01-02 01:10 pm (UTC)WOW! I am SO impressed. I find this game so hard - I get down to the last couple of squares, then click the wrong one...and that's with a tiny game.
Shame about tomorrow. I'm not working - I have something else to do with the family, but I will think about you.
Going back to work after a decent break always sucks, doesn't it?
