We walked our legs off yesterday, around the Zoo and The Rocks. Got a little damp from the rain showers but not for long. I am amazed at how tall Nick (17) and Lori (14) are now. Nick towers over me and I'm not short at 5 9"/175cm. Lori's not far behind.

Nick, me, Lori, Fiona. Taken by Brett.

Today we plan to go to Paddington Markets. Once B & N stop playing X-Box games, that is...

It was lovely, although I wish the weather had been better (intermittent showers every day). Nice mix of going out and doing things, and just hanging around as an extended family.

I remember visiting the Rocks and area back in 1986 when I was in Sydney to see a certain actor in Are You Lonesome Tonight.

It was a lovely area to explore.

It still is - although it's probably changed a bit since you were there! 20+ years is a long time.

My hotel was at the Hyde Park end of Oxford Street (?) and to think that I could walk all the way to the Rocks and back in those days ...

That's a fair distance - a couple of miles in old measurement. I once walked from Bondi Beach to Central on a whim. Not keen to that these days.

That's an awful shame - arthritis? Can you get a scooter or something that lets you get about more?

I have worked extensively with the PADP in NSW (every State has one, but it might be called something different in WA) and it sounds like you would be entitled to apply for a mobility aid.

I have bits'n'pieces to make my life easier and Dood is a great help. I would not cope without him. We are an odd pair, but perfect pieces to make a complete jigsaw.

Don't worry, I will get outside assistance if and when the time comes.

Of course. You should make the decisions yourself. Just thought I'd mention it :)

Not a problem. My Specialist knows only too well how stubborn I am, however, I do listen to him and he agrees to delay surgery for the moment.

Have just dropped the tribe off at the airport - I think they enjoyed themselves, I certainly did.

Sounds like you are having a great time - you all looks happy in this pic.

Isn't a shock to see how much little boys grow in a few years!! They seem to shoot up much quicker than girls.

Hope you all had a great day at the Markets.

Both of them have grown a lot, Nick in particular. He'll be at university next year. Lori was only 10 when I saw her last (I go back to NZ every couple of years, but last time I visited Wellington where my aunt lives - my sister and parents live at the other end of the South Island).

*g* I think there's a slight perspective thing going on in that photo - he's leaning forward & I'm going back. But he's definitely over 6' tall now. They're both great kids.
