More humour than the first. Maybe the ending was a little too pat but still enjoyable. Anton is a total dork but he's rather cute with it. There was an Evil! child wizard, body/gender switchery, brutal car/truck/motorcycle battles and an escaped ferris wheel destroying Moscow. Also, I WANT THAT LITTLE RED CAR! You know, for the next time I need to break into the top floor of a hotel to see the boss.

Oh, OK - you can have the red one. I'll just have to find another, preferably in dark green or electric blue, they're more my kind of colours anyway.

LOL! I was watching the deleted scenes from the first film and I'm thinking that the makers weren't sure either - they were toying with several scenarios at once and waiting to see what worked best. I like that in concept at least...

Hello! I'm here! I'm online! Yeay! (I'm squished in a rather small room surrounded by stuff that I've not put away yet, but that's okay too!) And... moving day did go well really, and I even managed to be civil and even friendly to Mr From Old House, so that's good... *g* Right - off to go and reaquaint myself with lj get on with marking! *g*

Yessss, my precious... two are out and a third is in development. They are not your slick Hollywood blockbusters, they are quirky and Russian beyond belief. I gather they're less mystical than the books - instead of amulets and stuff Anton has a "magic torch" and they've built in some Hollywood film & TV references for the foreign release. I liked them very much but you do have to 'go with the flow'.

I haven't read the books (we have them now so I am intending to) but I gather the first 2 films only cover the events of the first book. Very loosely.
