For folks in the UK: -

The Royal Armouries is currently hosting an exhibition of arms and armour from the movies, including LotR, Chronicles of Narnia, King Kong, The Last Samurai and Hellboy.

I was interested to see Peter Lyon will be there for some seminars in September - I knew Peter years ago when he first started making swords for medieval reenactors. He and his wife were frequent attendees at Australian Medieval Conventions. They're nice people. If you go and get lucky enough to talk to him, it's just possible he might remember the tall blonde woman who used to fight with "1066 - The Medieval Society" back in the day *g*.

If I ever do manage to get to the UK, the Royal Armouries is at the top of my list, right next to the British Museum.

But then again, I could spend a week at the British Museum...

Haven't been since '97, and I think they've expanded since then. I'd like to go back one day. The armourer, Andrew Bodley, is an ex-1066 reenactor.
