Wireless connection is shite, but here I am at Kingsford Smith, waiting for my Wellington flight. And after that my Invercargill flight.

OK, just forget all of that stuff... "it" (Optus, laptop, I'm not sure which) refused to let me post (although I'm quite amazed how lj remembered about 50% of what I typed when connected to Optus wifi in Sydney and regurgitated it at cyberzone here). So anyway I'm now in Wellington airport waiting for the Invercargill flight, in about 1/2 an hour. Good timing, actually, although I think when I get there I will collapse & die sleep like the dead, on account of getting up at 4:30 this morning. Which admittedly was like 7:30 Kiwi time, but still...

I saw various cool things when I arrived - like wow is on again - I took mum last time I was here, 2 years ago and it was fab. Suspect there won't be time this visit. Think I'll pop into the museum & check out the tuatara eggs instead. Or something.

Also, bits of Wellington Airport are being renovated again. I lived here thirty+ years ago, for a year, and it was a standing joke - which bits are they doing things to now? It's nice that some things haven't changed.

Now - important stuff - pros fen, I need some help (srs help). More beneath the cut:

I've been mad enough to volunteer a 15 minute "Pros fandom told through vids" presentation at [livejournal.com profile] get_together. I have a DVD of vids - a fair selection of classic and recent - to pick from. Which ones should I use and in what order? Bearing in mind that apart from [livejournal.com profile] arysteia, [livejournal.com profile] mab_browne, [livejournal.com profile] sethra2000 and maybe one or two others, most of the others aren't Pros fans. All suggestions gratefully received.

OK, the sun is shining something fierce through the big airport windows behind me and I can barely read the screen. So I'm going to duck & run... hope to catch up with youall in a day or so as the folks don't have Internet.

I'd hope for another viewing of The Bull-Shitters. :-) I know that some folks missed it last time, or slept through the important *g* bits. I know that's no good for what you want here though. Unfortunately, I haven't seen very many Pros vids at all.

Also, gaze fondly upon the South Island for me, will you.

Ah, damn, I re-sorted my video library & all I burned to DVD this time was song-vids.

Unfortunately, I haven't seen very many Pros vids at all.
Well, I have a heap of them. Some are lower res, will only really look OK on computer screen. Which I'm sure can be managed.

Also, gaze fondly upon the South Island for me, will you.
Am doing so - wet & wild as it is ATM. My mum keeps trying to put more layers of clothing on me and turns the heating up when I'm not looking, despite telling her I'm fine *g*.

Have a good trip!

Um . . . Definitely the Bullshitters. Have you got that weird sci-fi musical thing with Martin Shaw in (Facelift?) If so, that spawned Master of the Revels and some other fic.

As for eps, Hunter Hunted for sure, and also Mixed Doubles.

I'll ponder some more -- it's a bit early for me at the moment *g*.

Duh, sorry, definitely too early in the morning for me *bg*.

A Fire is Burning would be good to use.

Vids! I read episodes. You should use Ancasta's pimp vid. It works about the best. I did a pimp vid as well. The quality isn't all that great since it was done with WMM and old DVDs.

Yeah I have that one, and a couple of her others, on my short list. I'll have to check out the viewing space for the others I've got, which are wmv.

Have been trying to think about this all morning (such a hardship... *g*) Not knowing quite what the plan for the session is, but going with "history of fandom" and "vids" and "fifteen minutes" - how about starting with Ancastar's pimp vid as an intro to the 30 years thing, then going through some classic vids (well, says me... *g*) such as "Fireburning" by MediaCannibals (original, not remastered for the feel of the colour etc that was seen by earlier fans), then (not sure of dates, but...)... some Lithium Doll? A Mary Van Druesan? (I don't actually know much about her, but she says she was vidding Pros years ago - to be honest it's only really "The Hunting Song" of hers that grabs me, but... it does make me giggle... *g*) Erm... how's the timing... One of PRZed's earlier vids perhaps, such as "Wicked Ways"? Oh, or "Bohemian Like You" of course, which is multifandom but fab - see how B/D fit in with other fandoms?! And then onto some modern classics... I guess we've had Ancastar, though I adore her "Canonball" and "Hazy Shade of Winter"... I like Josey's vids of course - something cute like "9-5", or maybe her... oh, what's the song called - "Yummy, yummy, yummy I've got love in my tummy..."? Bistokids' "Mad World" is gorgeous, for a change of pace? Crimson of course - so many gorgeous vids to choose from, but time-dependent... and it's an absolute must, to leave them tearful and full of desperate-wanting-more nostalgia, to finish with Crimson's Thirty Years of Sunshine which is just so beautifully poignant...

There. How's that? *g* Been thinking of our lads on film all morning, I 'ave... *g*

I have a large size copy of MsvD's 'Gravel on the ground'. Unfortunately I only have low res versions of most of PRZed's. I love "The Warrior" and the other Ancastar vids you mentioned.

I think it depends whether I take a left turn into jokery at some point & yeah, where I want to leave 'em at the end...

Thanks!
